Hello, my name is Elder Phoebe English. In May of 2019, I answered God’s call to become a Board Member of Co-Labourer’s With Christ Ministry. I joined the team at the end of their Annual Campmeeting. Though I had attended several Campmeetings in the past, this one was quite different. I admired the work they performed as Co-Labourers. What stood out to me, regarding the charge of the ministry, was the fact that they represented the Word of GOD as shown in 1 Corinthians 12:12 NLT “The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.” There are many members of the Body of Christ but only one Body. This Body (CLWC) of anointed believers come together to get the work of the ministry done. The ministry also lives up to its mission: “A Ministry of Excellence.”
Another thing that piqued my interest in becoming a member was the fact that several of my extended family members had been serving as Co-Labourers for many, many years. When I joined the team, I was assigned the role of Assistant Secretary in which I recorded and transcribed minutes following our monthly meetings.
My cousin, Evangelist Brenda, who remains part of the ministry, took me under her wing and taught me how to record minutes for our monthly Board Meetings. At the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we started using the Zoom platform. This platform has allowed us to record our meeting minutes. Furthermore, it has afforded our partners, in Nyahururu, Kenya East Africa to participate in our meetings as well. Zoom has proven to be a great tool. It allows me to perform my duties, as Recording Secretary, to the fullest. After recording the minutes, I can go back and review them.
My mother passed away twelve years ago. Prior to her passing, she was a CLWC Giving Partner whereby she supported the ministry by giving whatever she was able to give. My oldest daughter, who is now twenty-six (26) years old, went to Kenya on her first Missionary journey at the tender age of fourteen (14). She was the first youth Missionary to journey to Kenya East Africa. It happens that this occurred prior to my becoming a Board Member! CLWC has made an indelible mark on my life. And, not only that, my life has not been the only one impacted, but the life of my family as well. I thoroughly appreciate the fact that the ministry caters to the entire family – not leaving anyone behind.
Since becoming a CLWC Board Member, I have had the pleasure of working, as a Steward, to develop, design, and implement plans for our Annual Prayer Brunch for several years. I have assisted with our annual family outings as well and have performed the duties of a Playwright. In this capacity, I have written theatrical productions. In doing so, I have learned the biblical fact that “when I give to the poor, I lend to the Lord.” It has taught me about sacrifice as well as total commitment. Without fail, the Ministry meets EVERY 1st Saturday from 9 am-1 pm. It was ordained of GOD that the Ministry come together to get the work done. During this meeting timeframe, we have two physical and spiritual feeding cycles, i.e., devotion, and a Grade-A Bible Study teaching led by a different Board member every month. In addition, we take care of all business that relates to the full functioning of the In Heaven’s Eyes Center in Nyahururu, Kenya East Africa.
I believe this ministry has expanded, and further developed, my growth. I have been stretched out of my comfort zone while being pushed to do things that I never thought possible. Each member brings a unique quality to the body, allowing us to be jointly fitted together to do the work that is before us. “Many are called but few are chosen.”
